Diet and foraging method
|
Ambush predators utilising the sit and wait hunting strategy. They can use their sticky tongue to capture smaller prey but can also catch large prey thanks to their large, powerful jaw.

Key adaptations
Bullfrogs are greenish brown, with spots and patches of darker colours which makes them well camouflaged in the water. Their fully webbed feet make them excellent swimmers.

A male bullfrog's mating call can be heard for over a kilometer, and has been likened to a roaring bull which gives the frog its name.
