Eats animals
Feed on the ground by picking up invertebrates from the soil surface or probing into soft mud.

Key adaptations

Very good camouflage colouration to protect against predators.
Long bill for probing into the ground and finding invertebrates deep within the ground.

Did you know that...?

The Jack Snipe is the worl'ds smallest snipe, males sound like galloping horse when they are try to attract females and when they are looking for food they walk with a spring in their step leading to their distinctive bobbing walk.

A group of snipes is called a "volley" or "whisper".
