Key adapations

The sawfish's head is modified to form a long, flattened blade with sharp projections along the sides, which is used for stunning and killing prey. They have a flattened underside and eyes on top of their head which makes them well adapted for living on the sea floor.

Sawfish give birth to live young. They have a flexible and softened saw when they are first born which hardens soon after.
